Your inner child

Growing up seems boring, upright, too independent and stressful.

From your twenty’s everybody is looking up to you with expectations, they derive you to be matured, strong, independent, reliable, hardworking, upright, always busy, making money, talk less, Etc..

Do you recall what it was like to be a child; when there was nothing to worry about, the ability to be free, freedom to expression, doing things without fear or favor, not caring about what anybody thought or said, trying new things, being outdoors, having true friends, the innocence, the love, embracing nature, constant energy, how easy it was to make friends, accepting life the way it was, doing things on your own terms, being you.

How it felt like to get gifts for Christmas, to have all your birthdays celebrated, the unconditional true love, the holiday excitement, making dens, climbing trees, jumping puddles, the traditional party games, walking around naked boldly, riding bikes, frequent gifts, the  sleepovers, power to explore, the happiness when you hear the ice-cream truck, not having to work, etc..

Although we can’t do it all, Cause most actually fade away with age, size, time and responsibities. Imagine a sixteen year old walking around naked, or a twenty year old chasing the ice-cream truck. But most of ushide fun anfreedom behind the terms, maturity and age.

That brings us to;

What is maturity: This is deeper than age, it is the ability to respond to your environment being aware of the current time and location, to behave and know how to act to circumstances and situations, it involves how you see and understand things, how you react, things you value, the way you present yourself, when you are content to be right about something, without seeing the necessity to prove somebody wrong.

People have their different views on maturity; it could be manners, it could be when you are living happily alone, your ability to forgive, when things don’t matter to you anymore, when you don’t judge, when you smile instead of showing your real emotions,

• Maturity is simply the state of being an adult and being responsible for you.

These are different views of maturity, by different people, with different experiences.

What is age: age is the number/span of years during which an event occurred.

• It can also be seen as the number of years or length of time during which something has been alive or in existence,
• It can be seen as a time of life in which some particular qualifications, power or capacity arises.

Age is just a number” this is a very common phrase people use to make themselves fit it, to seize opportunities, to get what they want or to feel good about them-selves.

Does age really matter? Ok on certain movies we see ‘PG 16, PG 18’ and so on, why is that, it is expected that at a certain age your to be opened to certain contents, because your minds are more developed forbetter understanding of it.

• So yes age does matter, believe it or not, age doesn’t prove maturity but the older you get the more experience’s you face the more matured you get.

Being matured in mind or in age doesn’t mean you should cage your inner child, being a child also came with the ability to forgive but the difference with being a child and an adult is the ability to forget.

Most times we find ourselves wanting to do certain things that we term “childish”, like expressing yourself, visiting the park, reading comics and diving into fantasy, driving a bicycle, explore your craft techniques, watching cartoons, dancing around the room, singing out loud, playing at the beach, building sand castles, telling stories, playing games, chewing candy etc…

There are certain ideas you get, but wave them of in other not to feel or be tagged childish, doing any of these things doesn’t make us less mature neither will it reduce your age, It only makes us free, happy, peaceful and fulfilled.

Exploring your inner child is an easy way to get out of the stress of reality, just being you, jumping on the bed like nobody is watching, having a music concert in your room, talking to those imaginary friends, expressing your self, laughing at your own jokes and finding peace within yourself.
